Vanessa Lewis
From Tax Commissioner to Client Success Manager
She comes from a background of local government, she was a tag and title clerk for 5 years before elected as Tax Commissioner for Wilkinson County. Vanessa gained a tremendous amount of knowledge about the inner working of local government in those 11.
What helped her grow into the role of tax commissioner was communicating with tax payers and figuring out a way to help solve their problems as well as the county’s. Which is no easy task, as you all may know. The first year as a tax commissioner, was overwhelming to say the least. There was so much information to learn and to process so quickly. Luckily Tax Commissioners in Georgia are like a big family. So many people took time away from their own responsibilities to lend a helping hand, to guide her and to shine a light in a hard time.
That experience is what drove Vanessa to make the jump to BIS to become a Client Success Manager. She aims to help local government offices thrive with better technology and take the time to understand their frustrations and work together to find solutions.
